My book has found a home.
Hardie Grant Books has acquired the world rights (ex US) for my autofiction novel The Eulogy, set to launch on 1 June 2022.
It has been a long journey for this book, the one I really felt I had to write. I enrolled in a creative writing PhD to get this one done, knowing I would need the deadlines and the support of the institution to force myself to visit the hard places. That was when my daughter was six months old. Tomorrow she turns ten (years).
This deal would not have happened without the support of: the SBS Emerging Writers Competition, which long-listed my short story which then got the attention of Hardie Grant; Hardie Grant senior editor Loran McDougall who championed the book internally; Emily Hart my commissioning editor and an all-round excellent wordsmith (I haven’t got the structural edits yet, so we still like each other); and my literary agent Sarah McKenzie. The acknowledgments list in the actual book is going to be much longer, but these were the women have been essential to getting my book into the public domain. THANK YOU!
